EMPOWERING WOMEN IN BUSINESS

EMPOWERING WOMEN IN BUSINESS
THE SUCCESS Women’s Network launched in Brisbane on Wednesday night, to inspire, motivate and celebrate the success of women in Queensland.

The launch is intended to help connect strong local business and career driven women to improve business operations, generate leads, inform, educate and have fun, all of which are imperative aspects that lead to business success.

The event showcased a number of local female fashion labels including Wilde Willow, Lazurah, The 400 Co and Sinead James among many other influential women in business.

Queensland licensee of Success Women’s Network Belinda Dolan (pictured) says she is focused on strengthening the fundamental beliefs that women can be successful by forming a supportive network of likeminded women.

“Having had the privilege of working in developing as well as more advanced nations I have witnessed first-hand many sides to the impact we as women can have if we pull together to support one another,” she says.

“Many of us have the same goals. Strong women need strong connections and as such we aim to join forces to bring about true success in business.”

A global study completed in 2012 by consulting and management firm Booz and Company rated Australia as a leading nation in those countries trying to develop gender equality in areas such as women’s access to education, pay equality, child minding and anti-discrimination policies.

According to the Australian Government Workplace Gender Equality Agency, in January 2014 50 per cent of new appointments to the ASX 200 boards were women, a positive increase from two women who were appointed in January 2013.

Ms Dolan has strengthened her career working in Australia and abroad working in various positions and running her own companies believing that anything is possible. Ms Dolan became a CEO before 40 and now wants to support other women to reach their business and professional goals.
