Co-founder of property-tech platform Archistar, Rob Coorey, is the new chairman of paddock-to-plate delivery service Our Cow as the scale-up positions itself for a new phase of accelerated growth.

Announced just one month after the company raised $2.1 million via crowdfunding platform Birchal, Coorey’s appointment to lead the Our Cow board is set to drive the service's national ambitions.

Coorey, one of Australia’s Top 30 Young Entrepreneurs, said he was drawn to Our Cow because of the leadership vision of founders Bianca Tarrant and David McGiveron who started the company in 2019, and the business’ ‘considerable upside potential’.

“I am honoured to join the Our Cow board as chairman,” Coorey said.

“Bianca and David have built a strong foundation and attracted an outstanding executive leadership team. We share a commitment to nurturing the vital bond between farmers and consumers.”

Alongside Coorey, the former lead investor of Woolworths’ venture capital arm Nicolas Rollinson has been appointed as chief financial officer, former David Jones head of buying Lyana Laborde was named chief procurement officer, and former Koala vice president of global digital strategy Phil Parker has taken up the role of chief marketing officer.

Our Cow co-founder Tarrant said the company was thrilled to have been able to attract strong talent to the company’s leadership team.

“That people of the calibre of Rob, Nicolas, Phil and Lyana were keen to join our team is testament to the type of business we’re building,” said Tarrant, who was a finalist in the 2022 Australian Young Entrepreneur Awards with co-founder McGiveron.

“They believe in our business model and our mission to supply sustainable, ethical, fresh and tasty produce that provides support to Australian farmers and strengthens the connection between those in the bush and the city.

“Our customer numbers are growing rapidly every month and we expect this trajectory to continue as more people become aware of us and what we do. Rob, Nicolas, Phil and Lyana are the right people to guide us through this next stage of growth.”

For Our Cow, the appointments cap off a busy six-month period, during which the company acquired the business assets of grocery delivery startup VOLY and completed the aforementioned crowd fund which saw $100,000 pledged within the first 15 minutes of the offer opening and $1 million within the first day.

Based in Casino, New South Wales, Our Cow says the funds will be used to expand its range of fresh food, improve delivery times and expand nationally. It also builds on a separate $2.4 million capital raise completed via VentureCrowd in mid-2022.

The company says it currently generates about $20 million in annual recurring revenue from more than 50,000 customers and supports more than 150 farmers across Queensland and NSW.
