ROBERT ROWE AWARDED YOUNG ENTREPRENEUR OF THE YEAR

ROBERT Rowe had just $64 in his bank account and a maxed out credit card.

Fast forward 10 years and the founder of T Projects is now maxing out on a different scale with his shop-fitting company displaying annual revenues of $40.5 million with that figure to double in 2015.

This success has led the 33-year-old to take out the prestigious Brisbane Young Entrepreneur of the Year award - an initiative of Business News Australia.  The top gong was presented at an exclusive event at Customs House, attended by close to 200 people.

Rowe kick-started his career in his fathers shop fitting business in his early twenties before venturing out on his own with a vision of revolutionising the industry and establishing new and innovative ways to transform commercial spaces.

That vision is now a reality and he says the success of the business would not have been possible without the support and assistance of his employees who have contributed to its overall achievements.

Since founding T Projects in 2004 I have learnt that the success of the business is never a one man job, says Rowe.

The power of our organisation is in the hands of the people and what they achieve together is phenomenal. At times, the biggest challenge is finding team members who believe in the potential and the success of themselves but once you find them the possibilities are endless.

T Projects provides estimation, project coordination, project management, construction management, client management and warranty and maintenance management services to its clients.

The company has consulted to a long list of top notch Australian brands including Vapiano, Ben & Jerrys, Kookai, Koko Black, Universal Store and Sumo Salad and in 2014 completed its biggest project to date a 4000sqm H&M Macquarie store in Sydney.

Generating close to $300 million in combined annual revenue, all finalists made a significant mark on the Brisbane economy this past year and showcased determination and enthusiasm in their respective fields.

Category winners:
Trailblazer Vanessa Garrard (e3 Style)
Property and Construction Robert Rowe (Tu Projects)
Manufacturing, wholesale and distribution Phillip Di Bella (Di Bella Coffee)
Technology Ben Shipley (Comscentre)
Digital Llew Jury (Reload Media)
Marketing, promotions and events Ben Johnston (Josephmark)
Retail and Services Sarah Timmerman (Beginning Boutique)

The night would not have been possible without the support of sponsors, including Telstra Business Centre Milton, Bond University, HLB Mann Judd, Blue Shadow Group, Piper Alderman, Department of Business and Good Price Pharmacy.
