Tammy Hembrow's Saski Collection impresses at New York Fashion Week

Her athleisure brand has only been around for just over a year, but already Tammy Hembrow is wowing crowds at New York Fashion Week.

As the premier destination for fashion designers of all stripes and backgrounds, securing a runway at New York Fashion Week is a covetable moment.

Hembrow showed her latest collection alongside other Aussie designers to a crowd packed with notable figures in the fashion industry.

Guests such as Jordyn Woods, Chantel Jeffries, Anastasia Karanikolaou, Delilah Belle, sat front row along with influencers Carrington Durham, Chantel Zales and Janice Joostema.

Hembrow, who has almost 9 million Instagram followers and won Business News Australia's Influencer Award at the 2017 Gold Coast Young Entrepreneur Awards, says showing off Saski at NYFW was a milestone moment for the young company.

"The whole thing was a dream come true, but the most exciting part was seeing the collection on the runway in New York," says Hembrow.

"This was such a huge step for us as a company since we only launched 14 months ago, and I feel so lucky to have already made it this far."

"I was so nervous about how it would be received having never done anything like this, but walking out and seeing everybody cheer was such an amazing feeling. I was happy to see some familiar faces in the audience Jordyn Woods, Chantel Jeffries, and Delilah Belle were all front row."

Hembrow, now back in Australia, says the future is looking even more exciting for Saski Collection, with new collections and exciting retail opportunities in the pipeline.

"We have lots on the cards for Saski - I've been working on new collections, and the possibility of doing a pop-up in Australia!" says Hembrow.

"Now that we're more established we also want to work on entering more awards - we want to be seen as an industry leader in retail in Australia. This year we were listed as one of Westpac's 200 Businesses of Tomorrow which was a great achievement for us."
