THREE CHEERS FOR MOO MOO

THREE CHEERS FOR MOO MOO

MOO Moo The Wine Bar + Grill At The Port Office has triumphed at the 2011 Australian Wine List of The Year Awards hosted by Fine Wine Partners in conjunction with Gourmet Traveller Wine.

The restaurant was awarded the highest possible ‘three glass’ rating at the 2011 Australian Wine List of the Year Awards.

It marks the second major accolade achieved by the Brisbane restaurant, which last year won the I Love Food Awards Favourite Steak for Queensland, complementing its multi-award winning sister restaurant Moo Moo The Wine Bar + Grill At Broadbeach On The Park.

The highlight of the menu is the red wine selection hand-picked by owner Steven Adams that are preserved by an Enomatic Wine Preservation System.

It allows the restaurant to offer wines in a range of 35ml, 75ml and 150ml measures, giving customers the opportunity to taste these selected wines and make a more educated decision in their dining.

Mark Ganga has been the head sommelier at Moo Moo since September 2010. Starting his career in 1985 at Jupiter’s Casino at the Gold Coast, he prides himself as being one of the founding staff members.

What most interests you about wine?

Truly the list is endless. I love the fact that you cannot stop learning when it comes to wine. There is always a new variety, a new region, a new winemaker and a new distributor.

They all offer something unique, something special and something that can help enhance the customer’s dining experience.

What is your favourite wine?

Red burgundy. It is the most sought after and delicate of all the red wines. To have a good red burgundy is one of those must do life experiences.

What do you love most about this industry?

Everything - the people, the pace, the intensity plus the feeling you get when a customer thanks you for the perfect evening.

This industry is always exciting and challenging, you are constantly thinking on your feet.

But finally it’s all about meeting new people, listening to their stories, taking in their advice and developing a new relationship every single night.
