BRISBANE will experience a taste of the country life, when Southern Queensland Country takes over Eat Street Markets at Hamilton.
The showcase will run on April 17 and 18, in celebration of Southern Queensland Country in autumn, with special guest chef Miguel Maestre.
Maestre will lead cooking demonstrations using produce from the region, in conjunction with farmgate stalls, themed walkways and wine tastings.
The event also allows Southern Queensland Country Tourism (SQCT) to serve up its latest getaways to entice city dwellers to visit.
SQCT CEO Mary-Clare Power says the new campaign encompasses the growing diversity and appeal of the region.
"Southern Queensland Country boasts an autumn canvas of incredible flavours, colours, people and places," Power says.
"The bounty from our region is fantastic during autumn, and we want the people of Brisbane to experience this and to choose Southern Queensland Country for their next holiday be it an overnight getaway, a weekend away or something a little longer.
"Southern Queensland Country is one of the only places in Queensland where it's possible to experience the leaves changing colour, the cooler weather and the delicious fresh seasonal produce of autumn, and this campaign will share this seasonal magic with our Brisbane neighbours."
It's the largest campaign undertaken by SQCT, combining the Eat Street Markets takeover with television, outdoor, digital, print and social media.
