Whether you’re wanting to earn rewards from your business expenditure or boost up your points balance across a range of partner airline Frequent Flyer programs, American Express has the perfect Business Card for you.

Though the company’s famous personal cards might be right for individuals, for business owners the numerous options under Amex’s Business Card portfolio enable the smarter operation of businesses, while letting users reap rewards simultaneously.

American Express rewards businesses, enabling them to earn points on every dollar spent on an eligible business card – some of our favourites being the Platinum Business Card, the Business Explorer Credit Card, and the Qantas Business Rewards Card.

These points can be redeemed on a huge variety of business or personal rewards, from gift cards for employees to personal trips away with family; there’s certainly something for everyone.

What are the perks?

American Express enables Card Members to earn points at more than 135,000 retailers across the country, which goes to show how incredibly diverse their rewards programs are, making earning points is as simple as spending money.

Virtually every dollar spent on business purchases using an American Express Business Card will earn points - even on expenditures like supplies, stock, travel, utilities, insurance, telecommunications, B2B payments and more.

While the rate at which a card earns points varies, money spent on purchases will go towards points accruing, which can then be redeemed.

Concerned about where you can earn points? Don’t be. There’s simply a gamut of retail partners including Qantas, Bunnings, Uber, Officeworks, Hilton, Shell, Australia Post, NIB Health Insurance, and even the Australian Tax Office.

Once you’ve gathered enough points, it’s time to splurge on the variety of rewards available to American Express business Card Members.

With international borders relaxing, now might be the time to book that flight to finally meet that important client face to face. Or maybe you just want to go on a vacation - we’re not judging.

With American Express the process of booking a flight couldn’t be easier - jump onto the dedicated Amex Travel page, input where you want to go and when, and a comprehensive list of options will be provided.

Amex Travel partners include Air New Zealand, Singapore Airlines, Webjet.com.au, Emirates, Helloworld, Etihad and Qantas.

Flexibility is key when it comes to running a business, that’s why American Express Card Members can transfer points at up to 10 leading frequent flyer programs, depending on your Business Card.

Shopping is also a perk for members with points burning a hole in their wallet, and with some of the best retailers partnered up with American Express the variety of options is endless.

Card Members can redeem points on a wide range of gift cards from some of Australia’s most popular retailers - making a perfect gift for a standout employee.

You can also use your points to pay with points at checkout with PayPal, shop online with David Jones, or book tickets to concerts, theatre and sports through Ticketmaster.

Finally, if you just want to free up cash for other business expenses you can use points to pay off eligible purchases made on the Business Card - it’s a win/win!

What are the Business Cards?

Sold on the perks? Well, you’re probably wondering how to get in on the American Express action.
