ADVANTAGE AIR EXPANDS BRISBANE OPERATIONS

ADVANTAGE Air has purchased a vacant warehouse in Eagle Farm for $4.6 million, as part of expansion plans.

The air-conditioning manufacturer will relocate down the street to a new 4,587sqm facility, which is twice the size of its current premises at Fison Avenue.

Advantage Air director Margaret Devoy says operations in the state have grown more than 200 per cent in the last two years.

“This phenomenal growth has been driven by our Queensland team and the highly successful MyAir air conditioning control system which we develop and manufacture in Australia,” Devoy says.

“All of our main competitors are now manufacturing overseas, but we are very proud to continue manufacturing in Australia and employ 100 staff nationally.

“More than 80 per cent of what we sell is made by us here in Australia and we want to keep investing in innovative products and hope to continue to grow in the future,” she says.

Devoy says the growth signals strength in the manufacturing industry, especially against international competition.

The property was marketed by Colliers International and Wright Property, consisting of a warehouse, office and manufacturing space.

Colliers director of industrial Anthony White says the four-week expression of interest campaign attracted plenty of potential buyers.

“The opportunity to purchase a freestanding manufacturing and warehousing facility within Eagle Farm rarely comes up and Advantage Air moved quickly to secure it,” White says.

“Their business in Queensland is expanding and they needed more space to deal with increasing volumes.

“Multiple enquiries and several offers that were received underline just how attractive Eagle Farm is to both investors and owner occupiers.”
