AIRTASKER TEAMS UP WITH COLES TO PERSONALISE GROCERY DELIVERY

AIRTASKER TEAMS UP WITH COLES TO PERSONALISE GROCERY DELIVERY

LEADING Australian supermarket Coles is teaming up with digital disruptors Airtasker to trail a fast and flexible grocery delivery offer.

The collaborative effort, initially being trialed in Sydney, called Coles@Airtasker sees the supermarket leverage the services marketplace to make home delivery even more personalised.

Coles@Airtasker sees Coles use Airtasker's 'Shop and Deliver' service to improve the existing Coles delivery service.

Customers will be able to specify exactly the delivery time they want, and communicate one-on-one with their Airtasker shopper to ensure lists can be changed and missing items can be substituted in real-time.

The Coles shoppers on the Airtasker platform will be pre-approved with a Coles Badge on the Airtasker application, ensuring they have completed sufficient training. These 'Airtaskers' have to complete a Coles branded shopping guide setting out how to pick and pack customer orders to maintain optimum quality and freshness, and meet required criteria on Airtasker.

Founded in 2012, Airtasker now supports more than 1.7 million community members across Australia and generates $90 million in earnings for workers each year. As a trusted community marketplace for people to outsource tasks, the platform quickly disrupted the service industry in Australia.

Coles online general manager Karen Donaldson says the collaborative effort will mean shoppers get a very personalised experience.

"We know our customers enjoy the convenience of having their groceries delivered by Coles Online this trial with Airtakser will make shopping even more convenient by allowing customers to deal directly with the person doing their shopping and bringing it to them," says Donaldson.

"Whether it's picking up a box of nappies at midnight or specifying unripe avocados so you can eat them later in the week, we think customers will love this new level of personalised service."

Airtasker co-founder and chief executive Tim Fung (pictured) says this will make the already popular shopping service better than ever before.

"Grocery shopping is one of the fastest-growing tasks on the Airtasker platform as Australians get smarter about how they use their time," says Fung.

Coles@Airtasker is now available from 64 stores across Sydney.
