Adelaide accounting firm Perks brings local advisory GPK Holdich into the fold

South Australian accounting and financial services firm Perks has acquired fellow Adelaide-based chartered accounting and business advisory firm GPK Holdich in a move that Perks says enhances its position as one of Australia’s largest independently owned financial services firms.

Perks, which was founded in 1981 by brothers Greg and Harry Perks, has operations in Adelaide's CBD, Darwin and Alice Springs, specialising in advising business owners, investors, families and high net-worth individuals.

The acquisition is part of a plan previously flagged by the firm to grow its business both organically and via acquisitions in the accounting and business services space as well as audit and wealth management.

GPK Holdich, founded in 2008, operates a single office in the Adelaide CBD and has developed a reputation for delivering personalised, client-focused services in accounting, taxation and business advisory.

The small GPK Holdich team has been integrated with the Perks team, which totals more than 200 staff, in order to facilitate a smooth transition for GPK Holdich’s existing clients.

Perks CEO James Black says the values and customer-centric approach of GPK Holdich are a natural fit for Perks.

“GPK Holdich’s long-standing relationships with South Australian businesses and individuals reflect their commitment to the highest quality tailored service,” says Black.

“This acquisition is an exciting step in Perks’ growth, expanding our footprint in the South Australian market and broadening the expertise across our firm”.

As part of the acquisition, former GPK Holdich director Aaron Read has been appointed to the Perks’ leadership team as a director of accounting and business services.

“Perks shares our commitment to providing exceptional client service and career opportunities, building lasting personal and professional relationships,” says Read.

“The Perks brand recognition, respect and integrity is strong, and we are excited and proud to be a part of the Perks team – this is an exciting and positive step for our business.

“Our clients and contacts have also offered positive feedback about the quality of Perks’ reputation and, most importantly, the calibre of the people who work there.

“We look forward to providing our clients with even further enhanced services through our partnership with Perks.”

Financial details of the acquisition have not been disclosed.
