GRAB BITE-SIZED TIPS FROM DOUGHNUT TIME'S SERIAL ENTREPRENEUR

HEAR from serial entrepreneur Damian Griffiths, founder of Alfred & Constance, Alfredo's Pizzeria, Kwan Brothers, Chester Street Bakery, Les Bubbles Steak & Frites Restaurant, Mister Fitz and Doughnut Time.

For a good time, join Business News Australia and Doughnut Time entrepreneur Damian Griffiths as we launch the 2016 Gold Coast Young Entrepreneur Awards. Find out everything you need to know about entering the 2016 Gold Coast Young Entrepreneur Awards as you enjoy a night with likeminded business professionals.

Bold, creative and with a sharp entrepreneurial mindset, Griffiths and his 300-plus employees are changing Australia's hospitality industry one game changing idea at a time.

In his twenties, Brisbane-based Griffiths owned a law firm. While he enjoyed his job, he had the desire to do something more and decided to go with the vibe 'the trend is your friend'. Putting a different spin on a proven concept has always been the way he's gone about business - and to much success. Nowadays, when Griffiths opens a new store, it's standard for queues around the block and social media frenzies.

"I've always just thought of myself as a customer, and because I never really think as an operational person, I'm constantly wondering what the person on the other side of the counter is thinking and feeling," says Griffiths.

"You should never be fearful if you're on the Gold Coast, for example, that you're not going to be cool elsewhere. Australians are by and large similar regardless of where they are, and generally it isn't a hard place.

"There's no intellectual property. Everyone can have a go, copy and deliver in a different way. You just have to put your own spin on things."
