Orbus Software, a global company with a strong presence in the Australian market, has acquired Sydney-based business architecture management specialist Capsifi with the deal set to lay the groundwork for a Digital Twin of the Organisation (DTO) platform for the UK group.
Orbus says the transaction is a strategic move that will combine the experience and specialism of the two global SaaS (software-as-a-service) leaders by offering “unparalleled capabilities for organisations trying to navigate transformation against a backdrop of increasing business and technology complexity.”
The Orbus enterprise transformation platform, known as OrbusInfinity, enables enterprises to generate a “digital blueprint” of their organisation, allowing them to visualise and take control of their IT portfolios and process landscapes.
It also helps align technology investments with strategic transformation initiatives to reduce costs and risk, increase efficiency, ensure regulatory compliance and enhance customer satisfaction.
Capsifi is a specialist in business architecture management, providing enterprises with a strategic “command centre” that unifies insights across strategy, IT and operations.
Orbus says the combined offering will lead to Orbus integrating Capsifi’s business architecture capability into its OrbusInfinity platform to create a comprehensive strategic enterprise transformation platform.
“This acquisition will create the most comprehensive, cloud-native enterprise architecture (EA) platform in our market,” says Gareth Burton, CEO at Orbus Software.
“Combining two leading SaaS platforms provides a considerable uplift to our business architecture offering, the ability to engage with new buyers, for example in business transformation and strategy teams, and expands the value proposition for OrbusInfinity and our customers; with an enhanced strategic lens to help enterprises ‘transform smarter’.”
The acquisition of Capsifi also lays the foundation for Orbus to develop a Digital Twin of the Organisation (DTO) platform, which combines EA models with live business performance and operational data to facilitate a seamless flow of insights and provide a comprehensive, real-time model of the business. With this, organisations can test, refine, and adapt strategic initiatives in real time, reducing risks and improving change management.
DTO is a rapidly emerging technology sector which Orbus and Capsifi both see as the natural evolution of EA platforms, and which will ultimately underpin all enterprise transformation decisions.
“Orbus is a well-established leader with over 20 years’ experience supporting customers through their transformation initiatives,” says Ian McAdam, CEO at Capsifi.
“This partnership advances our business architecture roadmap by adding powerful new features like the native iPaaS, AI, and workflow automation engine (OrbusInfinity Flow), and online diagramming (OrbusInfinity Draw).
“Together, we’re bringing our vision of the ‘enterprise command centre’ to life – a comprehensive platform that connects technology with business strategy.
“Our combined solution will offer unmatched support for customers' transformation journeys, helping them speed up decision-making, streamline operations, and align resources with strategic goals for a fully integrated approach.”
Capsifi, which was founded in 2013, is headquartered in Sydney and outside of Australia has a growing presence in the US and Europe.
The company’s solutions focus on delivering business outcomes, enabling organisations to embrace change, foster innovation and unlock the full potential of their business architecture.
Between them, Orbus and Capsifi share a joint focus on research and development investment into artificial intelligence that aims to transform their customers’ ability to identify opportunities and risks and rapidly iterate enterprise scenarios.
Orbus says that by aligning business and IT teams behind strategic objectives, the SaaS providers will enable organisations “to adapt to ever-changing demands with agility and precision”.
“The acquisition of Capsifi creates a powerful synergy by aligning business strategy with IT execution, unlocking high ROI (return on investment) collaboration between business and IT organisations,” says the company.
The acquisition will ultimately focus on realising a DTO to support connected enterprises that understand how their organisations operationalise their business models, deploy resources, and deliver customer value.
The acquisition boosts Orbus Software’s footprint to supporting 300 employees in offices located in New York, London, Dubai, Sydney, Singapore and Katowice, and serving around 700 customers across more than 50 countries.
Capsifi is expected to reinforce Orbus’s extensive industry experience in key sectors, including insurance, financial services, retail and manufacturing, government and healthcare.
Financial details of the acquisition have not been disclosed.
