Australian fitness chain REVL Training has received a strategic investment from Singaporean boutique fitness lifestyle brand collective MOVE [REPEAT] for an undisclosed sum, amid plans to enter multiple global markets and lift network revenue more than six-fold in three years.

REVL was launched in 2020 by Ben Woolford and Josh Mildren with a focus on performance-based group training, and grew from four Australian locations in 2021 to operating 35 studios in Australia, Dubai, Singapore and South Korea with a global customer base of more than 6,500.

A spokesperson for the brand clarifies that the investment is structured as a 50/50 partnership stake acquisition with the two REVL co-founders.

REVL's network revenue was more than $11 million in FY24 and growth is forecast to hit $68 million by 2028 as it expands further into Southeast Asia, while also entering new markets such as New Zealand, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

Established in 2023, MOVE [REPEAT] led the entry of Australian brand STRONG Pilates into the Singaporean market with four locations launched in its first year.

The collective also acquired Yoga Movement's 10-location business in 2023, and following its entry into Hong Kong late last year aspires to take the brand into Australian and other Asian markets.

Yoga Movement co-founders Peter Thew and Alicia Pan form the leadership of MOVE [REPEAT] alongside co-founder Allen Law, the founder of Park Hotel Group.

"We view REVL as the fitness industry's best-kept secret," says MOVE [REPEAT] co-founder Peter Thew.

"At its core, REVL is a positive, community-focused network, and as a result, it has experienced phenomenal, organic growth over the past few years. Together, there is an opportunity to tap into the unique growth opportunities offered by the global fitness industry, while still retaining what makes the REVL offering special."

Law's optimism is echoed by REVL co-founder and CEO Ben Woolford.

"While other fitness brands at our growth stage might focus on unbridled expansion, we would prefer to scale in a measured and mindful way, ensuring that the end-user remains at the core of everything we do," Woolford says.

"As a result, we chose to partner with MOVE [REPEAT] due to both our shared commitment to mindful intentional growth, and their experience in growing community-centric fitness brands in multiple markets."

Following the strategic investment, REVL intends to double down on its success over the past few years, aiming to double its location footprint year over year while retaining a clear focus on studio performance and customer satisfaction.

REVL is headquartered in the northern beaches Sydney suburb of Manly. Around two thirds of its current store locations are in Australia, spread across four states - South Australia (9), Queensland (5), Victoria (5), and New South Wales (4).
