Melbourne sports tech INTIX kicking goals globally, backed by a capital raising and new CEO

Judd Goldstein, the new CEO of INTIX

Backed by a capital raising, a new CEO and a beachhead established in the US and UK, Melbourne-based sports technology company INTIX is gearing up to build on a landmark FY25 which brought on board clients such as Western United FC, Australian Athletics, Tennis Australia and the Australian Boomers.

Founded by Alex Grant and Skye Larson in 2022, INTIX is transforming fan engagement and ticketing through a white label offering for sporting organisations that helps them streamline operations, grow fan bases and boost revenue.

After establishing a foothold in the Australian market, the company has expanded into the UK and US which was facilitated by a recent capital raise.

While details of the raise have not been disclosed, INTIX says it was supported by a “small group of private, strategically aligned investors”.

The capital raise, which helped boost the global team at INTIX and is fast-tracking technological developments for its platform, has paved the way for the appointment of sports technology specialist Judd Goldstein as CEO.

Goldstein’s experience in the sector, developed through his most recent role at sports data company Genius Sports and before that at sporting audience activation platform FanHub, are expected to help INTIX spearhead a strategic push to accelerate international growth and enhanced product innovation.

Grant, who was formerly managing director, has been appointed chief product officer to leverage his deep product knowledge and turn his attention solely to “building a best-in-class, innovative product suite”.

"This is an exciting and pivotal moment for INTIX," says Grant.

"Bringing Judd on board as CEO allows us to strengthen our leadership and seize the immense opportunities for growth in the international sports technology market.

“My new role as chief product officer will be dedicated to product innovation, whilst supporting the strategic direction of INTIX, ensuring we continue to build the best solutions for our clients.”

Grant, who previously worked in sports technology at global sports and culture group IMG, co-founded INTIX after identifying a need for ticketing companies to be more “innovative, intuitive and focus more on fan engagement”.

“The moment you sell a ticket is the moment you can gather some important data on your fans, that can help transform their experiences to become more than just a transaction,” he says. “That’s what started the idea for INTIX.”

INTIX says it directly addresses the critical market need for sports organisations to “fully own and control their fan engagement, data and brand in the digital age”.

The company says traditional ticketing and fan management solutions often relegate sports teams and venues to being mere resellers, ceding valuable customer relationships and data to third-party platforms.

INTIX points out that this leads to “fragmented data, limited marketing capabilities, delayed revenue and a diluted brand experience for fans”.

The decision to appoint Goldstein as CEO of INTIX was supported by his track record in forging partnerships with some of the world's largest sports and media organisations.

"I am incredibly excited to join the INTIX team," says Goldstein.

“INTIX has already established a reputation for not just selling tickets, but for truly revolutionising the fan experience through innovative technology.

“I look forward to working alongside Alex and the entire team to drive global expansion and solidify our position as a leader in the sports technology market. We’re going to build something incredible.”

INTIX has already made major inroads into the Australian sports and events market, bringing on board more than 180 clients in basketball, AFL, music, hockey, athletics and soccer, among others.

The company is now aiming to build on that momentum globally, revealing it has secured its first clients in the US and UK.

“My vision at INTIX was to create a unified platform, connecting every touchpoint of an event, and empowering organisers with the control and data they never had before,” says Grant.

“Our journey with INTIX, and our monumental potential for future growth, has led to an exciting new chapter. To take us to the next level, we need a leader with world-class experience in sports technology.

“I have immense respect for Judd's vision and his proven ability to work with the biggest and the best in sport and events.”
