Vegan infant formula scale-up Sprout Organic secures deal with Drakes

Following recent national roll-outs with Chemist Warehouse and Terry White Chemmart, vegan infant formula company Sprout Organic has signed an agreement with Drakes, the largest independent grocery retailer in Australia.

With more than 70 locations throughout Queensland and South Australia, the Drakes partnership gives Sprout Organic with critical access to families seeking plant-based nutrition for their children.

"By partnering with the largest independent grocery retailer in Australia, Sprout Organic is furthering its mission to revolutionise the kids nutrition industry, offering sustainable and nutritious plant-based alternatives to traditional dairy and soy,” says Sprout Organic founder and CEO Selasi Berdie.

Berdie, who is also a former rugby league player for the Gold Coast Titans, says being part of the Drakes distribution network is a major step forward for the company's retail growth strategy.

"Our focus on organic, allergy-friendly and plant-based ingredients has positioned us as a leading disruptor in this market with distribution in over 2,000 retail stores, formal distribution into three countries, and e-commerce sales into 45-plus countries," he says.

"We are thrilled to collaborate with a company that shares our commitment to customer service and delivering high-quality products. Together, we will make plant-based nutrition more accessible and convenient for families across Australia."

The Sprout Organic founder is a prolific entrepreneur, having also co-founded sports nutrition company CMBT, iconic Gold Coast cafe BSKT, and health and fitness marketing outfit Hype Group.
