Digital business card platform Blinq has raised US$25 million ($38.4 million) in a Series A round led by US-based Touring Capital, a specialist investor in next-generation software.
Blinq has described the capital raise as the largest Series A round for an Australian company in 2025, with support also coming from Blackbird Ventures, Square Peg Capital and HubSpot Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of HubSpot.
The latest investment from Blackbird Ventures and Square Peg comes on the heels of a $5 million investment they made in Blinq in 2022.
The Melbourne-founded Blinq is a global digital business card platform that helps professionals “connect instantly and stay top of mind”. The company hosts more than 2.5 million users across 500,000 companies in 189 countries and is on track to top 50 million card shares in 2025.
Founder and CEO Jarrod Webb launched Blinq after growing frustrated with piles of outdated business cards during his time as an early operator at Uber Eats.
What began as a weekend project quickly gained traction, prompting Webb to go full-time on Blinq in 2021.
Born and raised in Sydney, Webb studied computer science at the University of Melbourne before joining Uber in 2017, where he worked as an account manager in the Uber Eats team and played a key role in launching Uber Eats into the Australian market.
Blinq users can share personalised cards via QR code, NFC tap, short link, or email signature, seamlessly integrating into CRMs like HubSpot and Salesforce.
They also can create multiple cards tailored to different contexts, such as work, side hustle and personal use, so they always show up "the right way, in the right moment".
Each interaction leads to a sleek profile, with no app required from the recipient, where contacts can connect, capture details automatically and sync into CRMs like HubSpot or Salesforce.
Blinq says it captures the moment most platforms ignore - when two people meet for the first time. Instead of focusing on managing relationships after they've formed, Blinq zeroes in on the first few seconds, when attention is highest, intent is clear and trust is still being formed.
"People talk a lot about managing relationships - but most of them fall through right at the start,” says Webb.
“That's the moment we obsess over at Blinq. This raise gives us the backing to keep innovating at that critical first step - and to own what comes next."
While it was founded in Melbourne, Blinq also has operations in Sydney, San Francisco and New York, with a team of 70 across Australia and the US.
Priya Saiprasad, co-founder and general partner at Touring Capital, says Blinq is positioning itself “at the very top of the professional relationship funnel”.
“It's building the system of record for in-person networking and doing it with a product that's delightfully simple, beautifully designed, and already proven to scale," says Saiprasad.
Blinq is used by employees at more than 90 per cent of Fortune 500 companies with more than 7,500 businesses now using the platform to manage employee cards at scale, control their brand presence, onboard teams faster, and capture contact leads automatically.
"We continue to be impressed with Jarrod and the team's strong product instinct, and their ability to build a viral product that is growing fast,” says Rick Baker, partner at Blackbird Ventures.
“It's been great to watch the product develop, starting as a consumer product and now maturing into one being used and bought by large enterprises. It's proving the power of a digital business card and what's fast becoming a replacement for the contacts app on our phones."
James Tynan, partner at Square Peg, notes the scalability of the Blinq product.
"What's striking about Blinq is how naturally the product spreads - especially in tight geographic clusters like we're seeing in some US cities,” he says.
“That kind of network effect is a sign of something that can really scale."
Blinq updates in real-time across all platforms. When a user changes their information, it automatically updates in the contact books of everyone they've shared with, ensuring contacts always have current information.
"We are excited about how Blinq transforms fleeting encounters into lasting and valuable professional relationships,” says Adam Coccari, managing director at HubSpot Ventures.
“By capturing the context around a new connection and seamlessly integrating with existing tools like HubSpot, Blinq is building a relationship intelligence layer for millions of individuals and organisations around the world."
