BRISBANE FIRM DUBBED ONE OF STATE'S FINEST

MACDONNELLS Law has staked its reputation among the finest firms in the area of regional law, recently winning a top four spot at the 15th Annual Lawyers Weekly Australian Law Awards held in Sydney.

The independent firm was the only Queensland-based practitioner to be shortlisted for the regional firm of the year award, recognising a strong commitment to regional skills development, local community leadership and excellence in practice.

While New South Wales firm RMB Lawyers ultimately took out the top spot, MacDonnells Partner Luckbir Singh (pictured left) says achieving a place in the finals was testament to the skill of his practitioners and a great honour to the firm.

"This accolade is an absolute credit to our legal and support staff, past and present, across Queensland," says Singh.

"To be surrounded by our peers and be recognised as one of the leaders in our field is a great compliment and is a sentiment shared by the firm's board and partnership."

This year marks 131 years since MacDonnells first began servicing clients in Queensland, with offices in Brisbane, Cairns and Townsville advising across the breadth of the legal profession from large government matters to complex business issues and personal matters.

Other big winners on the night across a range of categories included Clayton Utz, Herbert Smith Freehills and Maurice Blackburn Lawyers.
