Domino's launches national iPhone application

DOMINO’S Pizza has today launched the availability of Australia’s first Apple iPhone pizza ordering application.

The application means iPhone or iPod Touch owners are able to create an account and save or place pizza orders without ringing a local store.

Domino’s CEO Don Meij (pictured) says the Australian designed and built application is an exciting step forward for the company and part of its focus on innovation and technology.

“For customers, it means the convenience of being able to order a pizza anywhere and anytime,” he says.

“We know our customers lead busy lives and that’s why we want to stay at the forefront of new innovation and continue to give them the freedom to place a Domino’s order when and how it suits them.

"Customers have complete control of the ordering process or if they simply want to view our menu or hot offers they can do that too.”

Today’s announcement has further cemented Domino’s Pizza Enterprises Limited’s reign at the top of Australia’s competitive takeaway pizza market.

As Australia’s only publicly-listed pizza company, the Albion-based corporation and its franchisees have 782 stores across five countries, more than double the number of stores of its closest competitor, Eagle Boys.

Meij says the free application effectively places ‘over one million pizza combinations in the palm of your hand’.

“You can flip your iPhone or iPod touch to view our menu in landscape, place a pickup or delivery order, pay by cash or credit and even track your order to see when it's ready,” he says.

“It makes ordering fun while having all the functionality right at your finger tips.”
