Eco workshops

CONNECTING Southern Gold Coast has joined forces with the Ethos Foundation to produce three workshops as part of the Building Sustainable Small Business program.

The program was designed specifically to help small business and enterprise become more resilient and prosperous by implementing practical hands-on sustainability planning including economic, environmental, social and cultural topics.

The first of the three workshops will take place on October 6 at Currumbin’s Ecovillage with the main focus of ‘creating a vibrant local living economy’.

Ethos Foundation program coordinator Jan McGregor, says the southern Gold Coast is a vibrant region that will create the environment for dynamic workshop content.

“We have been running these workshops in neighboring regions for the past two years and the feedback from participants has been very positive,” says McGregor.

“Key benefits highlighted include the opportunity to gain a practical understanding of sustainability planning and discuss opportunities and challenges with other business people.”

The workshops are facilitated by Dr Sally MacKinnon, sustainability educator with the Ethos Foundation and are an Australian Government funded initiative under the Building Entrepreneurship in Small Business program, with additional support from Connecting Southern Gold Coast.

Connecting Southern Gold Coast encourages businesses in the region from Currumbin Creek to Rainbow Bay to take part, while businesses outside this region are also welcome to attend.
