Educated buy

THE Brisbane College of Australia has bought the full floor of Level 5 in QHA House on Edward Street for $1.5 million, to teach its English language and other academic courses.
The sale of the 332sqm site was negotiated by Savills’ Pete Costello, who says the expression of interest campaign attracted 41 parties.

The floor on 160 Edward Street was previously occupied by Morgan Conley Solicitors and Costello says this kind of strata-titled property is a winning formula at the moment for those looking to secure their own space.

“A number of new strata-titled developments are underway in the CBD and the city fringe, which has seen a rejuvenation in interest for such product, mainly from owner occupiers looking to invest through self managed super funds,” says Costello.

“In recent weeks there has been considerable activity in the sub-$5million range for commercial property both in the Brisbane CBD and in the near city fringe markets.”
