THE Gold Coast has certainly earned its reputation as one of Australia's, if not the southern hemisphere's, most exciting tourism hotspots.
Living up to the status is one of the city's newest Surfers Paradise attractions, iFLY Indoor Skydiving Gold Coast, which was recently awarded silver in the New Tourism Business category at the prestigious Queensland Tourism Awards in November 2016.
IFLY Gold Coast boasts one of the world's most advanced vertical wind tunnels, allowing participants to feel the sensation of a freefall skydive without needing to push their limits and fears to the extreme.
The experience is a fully controlled and safe flight inside a glass vertical wind tunnel outfitted with fans capable of generating wind speeds of approximately 250km/h.
Frazer Smith, manager at iFLY Gold Coast, says the Queensland Tourism Awards win has cemented the company's status among the top attractions in the state.
"We are very pleased about the win," says Smith.
"Being able to compete with some of the state's best businesses and taking home an award is a huge success especially because we are actually category winners as no one won gold."
Not only is iFLY Gold Coast a must-experience hotspot for tourists, but it has become a favourite destination for the locals as well.
Several local businesses have hosted office parties, end of year celebrations and team building activities at iFLY Gold Coast, as the experience offers a unique way to bond with colleagues according to sales manager Maria Wright.
"IFLY Indoor Skydiving has become a mecca for adrenaline seekers looking to do something extraordinary without pushing their limits too far," she says.

The Gold Coast facility can host up to 300 people for an event, providing an array of catering and meeting options coupled with a privately instructed indoor skydiving experience for a truly memorable day out.
