MAKE-UP GURU LANDS NORDSTROM DEAL

GOLD Coast cosmetics company Cherry Blooms is proving it is a global force, after sealing a partnership with one of America's leading department stores, Nordstrom.

Founded by young entrepreneur Jellaine Dee, Cherry Blooms is one of few Australian brands to land a distribution deal with Nordstrom, and joins big brands including Lorna Jane and Napoleon Perdis Cosmetics.

Orders have already been placed for Cherry Blooms' flagship Brush On Fiber Lash Extension and will increase production of this Gold Coast creation by 30 per cent.

Dee says her Brush On Fiber Lash Extensions will be sold in all 110 upmarket Nordstrom stores and across 12 bays.

"This is the first time an Australian company has achieved full distribution across all Nordstrom stores when launching," says Dee.

"It was pretty mind-blowing when I was told that our products would be displayed in every single Nordstrom store.  Normally they test the products in some of the top stores and then they roll it out.

"We are very humbled, but also jumping out of our skin with excitement.

"I think we've been fortunate with our timing we have a great product and we are Australian.  America is in love with all things Australian right now and Cherry Blooms already has a proven track record within the American market."

Cherry Blooms' lash extension product has also been headhunted for inclusion in both the Golden Globes and Oscar gift bags.

Founded in 2008, Cherry Blooms has grown from a weekend stall market to a million dollar business.

The company distributes products to Canada, the UK, New Zealand and 50 states in America.

Dee recently took home the Business Achiever Award for the Women in Business Gold Coast Awards as well as being announced as a Finalist in the Queensland Premier Export Awards and the International Stevie Awards for Women in Business.

Dee is in the running for the Gold Coast Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, to be held on October 30.
