PLACE LAUNCHES SUNNYBANK OFFICE

PLACE Estate Agents has opened a new office in Sunnybank, the latest since introducing its new franchise model last year.

The Brisbane-based real estate network now manages the franchise's administration systems from Place headquarters, allowing agents to focus on selling rather than running the business.

Place CEO Damian Hackett says the system was successfully launched in November last year with Place Aspley.

"Five years ago, Place recognised the opportunity for an innovative real estate franchise model to introduce to the market, and we decided we would not open further franchises until we could offer a superior franchising alternative," Hackett says.

"At Place head office, we have a team of business services specialists who will work for our new franchise principals.

"By allocating the business operations to our head office resources, we are freeing up the principals' capacity to focus on selling property and growing a strong sales team."

Place Sunnybank will be owned and operated by one of the top sales agents in the state Owen Chen, along with Ping Han and Jess Chia (pictured).

Chen says it was the right opportunity to step up as principal of the agency, backed by more than a decade of experience in the industry.

"Place's new franchise structure was attractive as it meant I could become a principal and operate my own business while immediately moving straight into an established award-winning real estate brand," Chen says.

"It gives my new business a firm foundation for success and an exciting platform for me as an agent, in addition to the safety of having Place's support."

Place has appointed real estate operator Mark Frater as head of growth to drive further expansion. The agency aims to open another three offices this year.
