Supporting surf life savers

GOLD COAST’s business community is encouraged to get behind the Ultimate Surf Life Saving Sportsman’s Lunch, being held at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre on November 20.

The luncheon is a great way to be entertained by some of Australia’s most popular media personalities and sports starts while supporting local surf life saving clubs which greatly contribute to the Gold Coast’s tourism industry.

Special guests at the event include former professional football players Sam Kekovich (pictured), Peter FitzSimons and Malcolm Reilly, and captain of the Australian Hockeyroos Nikki Hudson.

President of Surfers Paradise Surf Life Saving Supporters Club Chris O’Conner says the event raises much needed funds for an iconic part of the Gold Coast’s culture.

“Gold Coast communities grew up around their surf clubs,” says O’Conner.

“This event has grown each year and over the last eight years we have raised in excess of half a million dollars to fund our volunteers patrolling the beaches and keeping them safe for our visitors and locals alike.

“We need to support these organisations as not only do they provide an exceptional service, but they create good young people.”

Tickets include a table buffet, beer and wines and entertainment from comedic magician Matt Hollywood.
