Work-life balance gets a lift

JULY 2010

MACQUARIE Real Estate Equity Funds project The Macrossan Residences has sold 60 per cent of its inner-city boutique office space, with five spaces remaining.

Construction has started on level 32 of the building, with the 37-storey apartment block due for completion in November.

Development manager Evan Aldridge says the $75,000 offices are only available to people who buy apartments in the building, as part of a resident business centre.

“These offices have appealed to residents wanting to strike a better work-life balance,” he says.

“They are ideally positioned for this purpose – just a lift ride away from the residences and in a prime CBD location for business meetings – and because they are not part of the apartment itself, they help people keep their personal and professional life separate.

“With people leading increasingly busy lifestyles, any time saved on the commute to and from work provides more time to spend on the things we want to.”

Negotiations are underway for two retail tenancies in the building on the corner of Adelaide and Macrossan Streets, opposite the award-winning E’cco Bistro.

Ben Langfield, who is marketing the project with Colliers International, says the project has been popular with eventual owner-occupiers, recording $50 million in sales.

“The Macrossan Residences provide ‘homes’ in the sky, but with the hassle free maintenance, great views and lifestyle benefits of an apartment,” he says.

The building also includes a wine cellar and tasting room, a sauna, pool, gym and treatment room.
