After making waves with its sci-fi looking anti-drone jamming gun that quite literally shoots drones out of the sky, DroneShield (ASX: DRO) has been picked up globally by nations and companies alike.
Now the business is expanding its suite of killer products to embed its unique Australian-made technology into vehicles in a partnership with Intelligent Security Integration Australia (ISI).
The new vehicle-tech, called Rapid Scout, is an 'integrated counterdrone detect and defeat' solution that improves the capabilities of militarised vehicles to find and take down drones which pose as a real threat to the safety of the vehicle. Effectively, they've created a car that can spot pesky drones in the sky and take them down to the ground in mere seconds.
ISI, a Melbourne-based security-tech company, will embed some of DroneShield's proprietary anti-drone tech into its flagship product, Rapid Scout HQ.
ISI has seen significant demand from defence, government agencies, emergency service providers, law enforcement, and private security organisations, for the Rapid Scout HQ tech.
With the integration of DroneShield, ISI's Managing Director Stephen Bell says the demand for Rapid Scout HQ will increase even further.
"We are excited about this partnership and believe our vehicle-base surveillance capabilities combined with DroneShield's counterdrone sector leadership enable this market leading product to meet customer requirements in the counterdrone space," says Bell.
Before the collaboration with DroneShield, the Ra
pid Scout HQ solution incorporated a vehicle with an advanced surveillance capability using mast-mounted CCTV attached to a vehicle.
Going forward, Rapid Scout will incorporate a counterdrone module using DroneShield's RadarZero (a portable drone detection radar), RfOne (a drone detection capability using radio frequency), and an optional DroneCannon (a counterdrone jammer).
The partners believe the integrated Rapid Scout will be the first of its kind.
Oleg Vornik, DroneShield's CEO, says the partnership will allow the two companies to reach customers they would have otherwise missed without the collaborative tech.
"The partnership with an on-vehicle market leader ISI allows DroneShield to enter the vehicle-based law enforcement, security, and military market, using a proven vehicle platform that ISI provides," says Vornik.
"There is a considerable interest in the market today for on-vehicle counterdrone products, which Rapid Scout is well placed to meet using DroneShield's capability."
The product will be unveiled at Land Forces 2018 in Adelaide, a major Australian-based international defence exhibition.
