LUCAS UNVEILS AUSTRALAND'S $400M HAMILTON REACH

DEPUTY Premier Paul Lucas has officially launched ASX-listed property group Australand’s $400 million Hamilton Reach development in the city’s burgeoning Northshore precinct.

The $55 million Watermarque residences, a collection of 78 contemporary architecturally designed apartments is the first stage in an anticipated six-year program to develop 600 apartments on one of the city’s most strategic riverfront sites adjacent to the Royal Queensland Golf Club.

The project is targeted at both owner-occupiers seeking inner ring city living options and investors seeking to take advantage of the growth of the Northshore precinct and Brisbane city in general.
Apartments are priced from $360,000 to $1.5m.

Australand Queensland residential division general manager Richard Fulcher, says Hamilton Reach represents one of the most significant integrated new urban projects to be undertaken in the city.

“Hamilton Reach will ultimately deliver a new era of apartment living for the Northshore precinct by offering a low to medium density alternative that is reflective of the site’s unique attributes,” he says.

In officially launching the project, Lucas says the development 'further extends the liveability of this city' and 'is only a part of what we will achieve in the Hamilton area'.

“The river is what characterises the city of Brisbane – it is our greatest asset. And of course this development addresses that river, and gives people the opportunity to live alongside it and to observe it. The Cultural Centre turns its back on the river, but like the Gallery of Modern Art, this will be a building that addresses the river and I think that’s really important," says Lucas.

“This development is incredibly well placed for people who want to enjoy the lifestyle. What we’ve got here is all the infrastructure upfront – the City Cat Terminal is underway, it’s close to the airport, very close to the Gateway Motorway, just up the road from Racecourse Road, and just up the road from New Farm.

“These developments not only provide for the quality of lifestyle of people in this area, they also assist in terms of the income they’ll generate for the ULDA for us to provide affordable housing. That means young people and people in the workforce, who we need to have in the city, will also be able to enjoy this lifestyle."

Fulcher says the apartment designs are tailored to suit a variety of demographics from professional couples looking to live close to the CBD to empty nesters looking to downsize without having to sacrifice premium location and privacy.

“Hamilton Reach has been designed to provide a welcome escape from city life whilst still offering the convenience of being within close proximity to essential services and a short ferry ride to the City,” he says.

Hamilton Reach is bordered by 530 metres of river frontage, 2.5 hectares of parkland and the Royal Queensland Golf Club.
