CAMERON ARNOLD

DOMAIN Resorts & Residences has appointed Cameron Arnold as chief executive officer after two years as the operations manager with the company. Arnold has a background of more than 17 years in the leisure and corporate tourism industry and is the chairman of Tweed Tourism and board member of Northern Rivers Tourism.
KATIE BOWDITCH
KATIE Bowditch was recently appointed as the non-raceday functions manager at the Gold Coast Turf Club. Bowditch worked at the Gold Coast International Hotel for the past seven years in various roles, most recently as the business development manager for the MICE market. The passionate horse-racing fan will be responsible for driving non-raceday business and is a very welcome addition to the Gold Coast Turf Club family.
MARK DOBBIE
CLASSIC Holidays has announced Mark Dobbie as member services manager. This hands-on role will manage all day-to-day aspects of the member services department which consists of an inbound and outbound team and marketing and inventory department. Key responsibilities include managing and developing the team and introducing new strategies to improve team operations.
SIMON FAGENCE
SIMON Fagence has joined Quill Group at Southport. With almost 20 years experience with KPMG, Deloittes and more recently as the senior taxation partner for PKF Southport, Fagence brings a wealth of high level tax knowledge to Quill Group’s client base which boasts some of Gold Coast’s most successful businesses and families. Fagence has provided expert tax knowledge to many of Gold Coast’s business icons and is now looking forward to renewing these relationships.
RICHARD HAYS
BOND University has appointed Professor Richard Hays as Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine. Hays will join Bond from Keele University in the United Kingdom where he is presently chair of Medical Education and head of the school of medicine. Bond has also appointed him Pro Vice Chancellor, Teaching and Learning. He has PhD in education psychology and trained general practitioners.
GRANT JAMES
GRANT James will head up Outrigger Hotels & Resorts’ Australian operations as regional general manager. James has spent the last two years working in Hawaii overseeing the management of the 1150-room Ala Moana Hotel in Honolulu, which is an affiliate property of Outrigger Enterprises Group. James will oversee the company’s corporate office in Surfers Paradise to head Outrigger’s development and expansion opportunities.
JOHNNIE KARAGIANNIS
JOHNNIE Karagiannis has been appointed as manager at the Sandbar + Grill. Karagiannis has worked for Sir Richard Branson’s Private Members Club in London, managed bistros in the Mediterranean and rubbed shoulders with VIP diners in Melbourne’s finest restaurants and bars. The Sandbar + Grill is the Pub Group’s sixth acquisition in its expanding portfolio of properties and its second in northern NSW.
CHRIS KNELL
CHRIS Knell has been appointed business development manager at Sin Design and Branding. Knell was a member of the Gold Coast Titans inaugural administration team where he was heavily involved with their brand development and delivery strategy. He also worked extensively in their ticketing and operations departments as well as heading up their on-line division.  He brings this expertise to Sin with a mandate to raise the awareness of the boutique Southport based creative agency.
JACKIE LIU
ACCOUNTING academic Jackie Liu has joined the school of commerce and management at Southern Cross University. Liu, who will lecture accounting to undergraduate and postgraduate students, is undertaking research projects and will provide consultancy to small businesses in the areas of corporate disclosure, corporate governance, finance and auditing.
ANDREW NICHOLS
ANDREW Nichols recently joined Hall Finance and Insurance Solutions in Southport. Nichols has been advising clients on their taxation and business requirements since 1986 when he moved to the Gold Coast from Brisbane. Nichols became an authorised representative of Guardian Financial Planning in March 2009 and specialises in life, trauma, disability and income protection insurances.
GARY PARKES
GARY Parkes, has been appointed as the sales and marketing director for the Gold Coast Blaze NBL team. The former sales and marketing manager for enterprises such as Lever & Kitchen, Streets Ice Cream and Unilever Australia once owned his own marketing communications agency that managed the media for World Expo ’88.
JACK RAY
JACK Ray has returned to Ray Group as head of commercial and retail focusing on Salt Village, following this month’s release of retail tenancies. Ray has extensive experience in development management, residential sales and commercial leasing, having worked across some of Australia’s most successful masterplanned communities, including Salt Village, Mount Hotham, Casuarina Beach and Hope Island Resort.
