ART SERIES STAMPS BRISBANE

ART Series Hotel Group has announced its first Brisbane foray, with the launch of The Johnson set for later this month.

The Deague family's Asian Pacific Group (APG) is bringing its boutique Art Series Hotel brand to Queensland for the first time.

The chain has already scattered itself throughout Melbourne to much success building five developments in only a few years and has recently launched in South Australia.

The luxury one- and two-bedroom apartments located in Spring Hill go on sale in limited release on 1 May.

APG executive director Jonathan Deague says The Johnson's concept is something the Brisbane market hasn't seen before, considering the apartment-hotel hybrid it will deliver to residents.

"The Johnson Apartments development concept is unique because it has never been seen before in the Brisbane market and we expect demand to be similar to that for our Adelaide property, The Watson," says Deague, adding that Adelaide sold almost 60 per cent of its stock in its first weekend of sales.

It seems The Johnson presents a two-fold opportunity, with a media release from Asia Pacific Group stating that "Brisbane's strong investment potential and better-than-Sydney" yields are attractive.

Art Series Hotel Group's properties are renowned for their artistic flair, commissioning contemporary artists and designers for their fit-out.

The Johnson will adhere to this, paying homage to the original building's sixties design by influential Viennese-born architect Karl Langer, as well as incorporating a 50-metre swimming pool designed by Olympic gold medallist Michael Klim (pictured right).
