BEAUMONT TILES has unveiled a new head office and distribution centre in Brisbane's south as part of its $20 million strategic investment in the state.
The tile and bathroom retailer's warehouse facility in Rochedale employs 75 people and will service a network of 28 stores in Queensland.
The company has secured a 19-year lease on the 13,287sqm property, which is 60 per cent larger than its previous sites at Archerfield. Output is expected to increase to 16 hours a day.
It follows the launch of a high-end 730sqm design studio in Fortitude Valley earlier this week.
Beaumont Tiles managing director Bob Beaumont says the move will capitalise on a booming renovation market in the state, particularly in south-east Queensland, the western corridor and North Queensland, in with population growth and subsequent construction activity.
"The opening of Rochedale is a whole new chapter for Beaumonts in Queensland and it demonstrates our deep commitment to the state and to grow with it through employment and infrastructure investment," Beaumont says.
"We've designed the facility to suit our unique needs for stock holding and to vastly improve our heavy-vehicle and customer traffic management.
"This means customers can get what they want, when they want it and we can maintain market leading price points."
He says the company has increased its national footprint by 25 per cent in Queensland the last five years and expected turnover to increase from $60 million a year to $100 million in the next five years.
The new facility at Goodman's Rochedale Motorway Estate takes Beaumont's national distribution centre holdings to 50,000m2 for its 106-store network across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide.
Goodman general manager Australia Jason Little says the announcement highlighted the property group's commitment to attracting quality development opportunities to Brisbane.
"We've worked closely with Beaumont Tiles to develop its modern and efficient Queensland head office and warehouse facility at Goodman's Rochedale Motorway Estate, one of Brisbane's newest industrial precincts," Little says.
"It's ideally located with direct access to the Gateway Motorway and Brisbane metropolitan areas and enables Beaumont Tiles to better service their growing customer base."
