BOND CAMP SET TO GENERATE BRIGHT IDEAS

BOND CAMP SET TO GENERATE BRIGHT IDEAS

BOND University is calling on high school students looking to unleash their inner entrepreneur to attend a free 'idea camp', hosted by the Bond Business School.

Ideas Camp 2015 will allow year 11 and 12 students to hear from some of Australia's industry leaders, who will share their tips on turning creative ideas into success stories.

The camp will feature a special presentation from author and editor-in-chief of The Collective magazine, Lisa Messenger, on her renegade approach to business.

Presenting alongside Messenger will be local success story and Bond student Nick Pearce, who opened his first business, Blackboard Coffee, at the age of 19 and now presides over a Gold Coast coffee empire with three thriving venues at Varsity, Burleigh and Coolangatta.

Rounding out the day will be Bond University's Dr Baden U'Ren (pictured), head of the Bond Business Accelerator, a new program designed to teach the next generation of leaders to think creatively in a fast-changing global business environment.

U'Ren says Ideas Camp was a unique opportunity for budding entrepreneurs to learn from some of the best in the business.

"The modern workforce is changing, and it is important for the next generation of corporate adventurers to learn the right skills to help them thrive," he says.

"Ideas Camp is about teaching young people how to think like an entrepreneur at an early age so they can apply these principles across all facets of their life, including their study and career.

"Guest speaker Lisa Messenger is an authority on turning ideas into successful businesses and throughout her career has challenged the status quo. Collective Hub is a game changer in connecting with an audience, while her books encourage us to believe in ourselves and take action.

"If you are in year 11 or 12 and are dreaming of a career in business, Ideas Camp is an opportunity you don't want to miss."

Ideas Camp is open to year 11 and 12 students and will be held on October 7 at Bond University's Abedian School of Architecture.
