BOND TO HOST LANDMARK LEGAL CONFERENCE

BOND TO HOST LANDMARK LEGAL CONFERENCE

A DEDICATED network of experts based at Bond University has announced the inaugural interdisciplinary conference on 'Global Order and Disorder' will commence on August 7, where the current state of worldwide governance will be reviewed.

The Transnational, International and Comparative Law and Policy (TICLP) Network, co-convened by Bond Associate Law Professors Leon Wolff and Dr Danielle Ireland-Piper, will host discussion alongside national and international experts on key issues currently surrounding global governance.

According to Associate Professor Dr Ireland-Piper, several areas for concern will be on the agenda including global financial stability, cross-border transactions, national security, armed conflict and human rights.

"The conference will investigate international, transnational and comparative concerns," says Dr Ireland-Piper.

"Cross-border governance and regulations pose significant challenges for governments from countries around the world and this program is designed to engage with some of the key issues Australia faces internationally."

Speakers set to address the convention include Professor Michael Strner of the University of Konstanz, Associate Professor Douglas Guilfoyle of Monash University and Eve Massingham of the Australian Red Cross.

Visit bond.edu.au for further information regarding the event and the opportunity to register.
