FRESH out of university Brad Beer successfully combined his passion for quality health services with the drive to establish his own physiotherapy practice.
The 28-year-old founding director of My Back’s Physio says the inspiration for starting the business came from a desire to provide his clients with the highest level of service available.
“The biggest thrill for me is ‘wowing’ clients,” says Beer.
“I always had a vision for running a private practice as I consider myself entrepreneurial and business savvy.”
The Mermaid Waters practice is growing at an extraordinary rate having experienced 64 per cent growth in the last financial year and is now on track to break $1 million in revenue in the current FY.
“Our relocation to a much more strategic location in the Q-Super Centre has been a major factor and we also are constantly refining our customer service,” says Beer.
“It’s also a big thrill for me watching the team grow and people step up to new roles. I love the education that comes from the mentoring process.”
High profile clients include world and national surf lifesaving champions Shannon Eckstein and Pierce Leonard and six-time World Kick Boxing champion Nathan Corbett.
“We treat a whole diverse range of clients from elite athletes to pregnant women and senior citizens. I really enjoy the combination of being able to have clinical time and practice development time and we are setting the trend for the future of service,” says Beer.
With the region’s large population of Baby Boomers, Beer sees the potential in the Gold Coast practice to be at the forefront of the changing physiotherapy industry.
“There is lots of room for innovation and we are certainly trying to think outside the box and come up with fresh ideas. For instance we now have golfing workshops and a program which teaches people how to run correctly,” he says.
