BRISBANE WELCOMES THE WORLD

BRISBANE WELCOMES THE WORLD
IN preparation for the G20 Summit, more than 2000 Brisbane hospitality workers will participate in a government initiative designed to foster the city’s friendly reputation as host.

‘Brisbane Welcomes the World’ will be a collection of face-to-face sessions and online modules encouraging local businesses to engage with all visitors in a unique and positive way.

Brisbane Lord Mayor Graham Quirk says those participating in the program will be instrumental to the success of the G20 Summit.

“Hosting a G20 is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and our local business will play a vital role in the event’s success,” says Quirk.

“Being a competent and welcoming destination provides us all with an incredibly strong point of competitive difference.”

Quirk says the program will cultivate a culture of business friendliness that will continue after the Summit’s conclusion.

The program will be available to anyone working within the hospitality and tourism industries, including management and employees of hotels, transport and retail businesses.

Hosted by Brisbane Marketing, the first three hour session will be held at QUT on May 27.
