CARBON ENERGY DRILLS

CARBON ENERGY DRILLS

CARBON Energy (ASX:CNX) has commenced drilling at the company’s Bloodwood Creek UCG site as it strives to commercialise its UCG operations in Queensland.

Water and core samples will confirm conditions in the cavity, located in Queensland’s Surat Basin.

Carbon Energy CEO Morne Engelbrecht says the company’s UCG keyseam technology was developed with CSIRO to develop more environmentally friendly way of converting coal to energy.

“Today we commence the first step to demonstrate a commercial UCG operation can be operated in an environmentally safe way through application of Carbon Energy’s UCG keyseam technology,” he says.

CNX shares are trading up 11.11 per cent this morning at $0.02.
