MOVE over popcorn, Eagle Boys and Quickflix have announced a six month partnership, declaring pizza and movies as the new winning combination.
Pioneer Australian streaming and home delivery entertainment service Quickflix and Brisbane-based pizza chain Eagle Boys anticipate a reciprocal boon as they capitalise on their convenience.
The partnership is integral in Eagle Boys’ 18-month brand refresh announced in November last year, boosting brand awareness through greater online exposure.
Eagle Boys CEO Bruce Scott says the deal will better align the company with changing customer preferences as individuals show a growing appetite for streaming.
“Quickflix has advanced rapidly in the home entertainment market with such a modern take on movie delivery including streaming and digital offerings as well as the DVD postal method – it’s a great fit for us at Eagle Boys,” Scott says.
The partnership between the companies means both customer bases can enjoy special deals and packages.
Eagle Boys partnered with Video Ezy under similar circumstances in 2011, but the growing appetite for streaming suggests this partnership will offer a stronger competitive advantage.Retail stores are increasingly closing shop, while Quickflix streaming was up 24 per cent per quarter in the past nine months.
However, the partnership is complementary, with Quickflix Chairman and CEO Stephen Langsford saying it serves his company just as well based on the identification of new customer viewing habits.
“We are seeing significant changes in people’s viewing habits with 30 percent of families watching multiple episodes of their favourite TV shows over the weekend, during peak pizza eating times,” Langsford says.
Facebook followers of both Quickflix and Eagle Boys will benefit from further pizza, DVD and movie streaming deals.
