EVOLVE SKATEBOARDS SIGNS MAJOR US DEAL

US SKATEBOARDERS will soon be able to zip around using Australian technology, after Evolve Skateboards secured a major deal.

The Gold Coast-based company has teamed up with Bustin Longboards to co-produce electric longboards in the US.

Evolve Skateboards director Jeff Anning says the partnership is an exciting move for the company and its client base.

“We think the collaboration between the two companies is a really good fit because we’re more into the cruising and young professional market rather than the hard-core skateboarders,” Anning says.

“We have already started manufacturing and marketing the first of the new boards and they should be available in the United States in the middle of October.”

Since the company’s launch in 2011, Evolve products are now available in more than 30 countries.

Anning says Bustin is one of the leading longboard companies in the US, opening up a whole new market for the brand.

“We will get the benefit of drawing off their massive market presence both in the US and internationally, while they will get the benefit of our world-leading expertise in the production of their electric boards,” he says.

The motorised Bustin boards will also be sold in the United Kingdom, Canada and Germany through online stores and its network of retailers.
