HUTCHINSON BUILDERS BREAKS GROUND ON ILLUMINA

HUTCHINSON Builders has broken ground on the $120 million Illumina apartment tower at Toowong on the back of strong pre-sales.

Brisbane-based developer Property Solutions kicked off construction after off-the-plan sales surpassed the $100 million mark since the project's launch last July.

The 221-apartment development has particularly resonated with owner-occupier buyers, who are expected to start moving in at the end of 2017 to early 2018.

Property Solutions sales and marketing manager Craig Wright (pictured right) says Hutchinson Builders was selected for its reputation with construction projects of this calibre in Brisbane.

"Having a builder of such repute locked in gives us confidence the project will meet the high standards of quality and craftsmanship expected of luxury residences," Wright says.

"These apartments predominantly consist of three-bedroom and study residences, located on the tower's top three levels, so they meet the size and amenity requirements of the end user market."

Illumina will offer one, two and three-bedroom apartments across 21 levels on the corner of Lissner and Jephson streets in the heart of Toowong.

Residents will have access to a sky deck with an infinity-edge pool, entertaining space and open air cinema, while the street-level retail precinct features space for cafes and boutiques.

Hutchinson Builders chairman Scott Hutchinson (pictured left) says the team was looking forward to delivering such a highly anticipated project to the Toowong skyline.

"It is encouraging to be involved in a development that has received so much attention and commitment from the market," Hutchinson says.

Illumina will add to Property Solutions' growing workbook of more than 150 completed projects across south-east Queensland, including Centro on James Street, SW1 development in South Brisbane and The Barracks in Paddington.

The group is also developing the $270 million Circa Nundah Village and $55 million Arbour apartments in Chermside.

Illumina's current apartment release is priced from $351,000 to $1.1 million.
