THE Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) has released positive jobs data for Queensland, with 12 consecutive months of employment growth.
State Treasurer Andrew Fraser (pictured) says the data shows Queensland is the nation’s engine room for job growth, but the trend unemployment of 5.5 per cent remains unchanged from a revised June figure.
“Delivering 12 months straight jobs growth shows the Queensland economy is headed in the right direction,” he says.
"In July, we saw 5,600 new jobs created in Queensland. That's more than a third of the nation's total jobs growth (16,700).
“In the State Budget 12 months ago, we put in place a job-generating economic plan, and the results speak for themselves."
