LONGTIME BOSS SET TO DEPART GWA

GWA Group Limited (ASX:GWA) managing director Peter Crowley has announced he will step down from the role on June 30 next year.

The building fixture supplier has appointed Tim Salt (pictured) to replace Crowley, who will retire after 12 years at the helm.

GWA chairman Darryl McDonough says the outgoing managing director has committed to assisting Salt transition into the company.

"Peter Crowley has provided strong and dedicated leadership to the GWA Group over the last 12 years, for which we thank him," McDonough says.

"He has very successfully implemented the recent strategic review, resulting in a strong return to shareholders."

Salt has been the managing director of alcoholic beverages company Diageo Australia and New Zealand since 2008.

He is responsible for all aspects of operations in Australasia, including product supply, marketing, sales, innovation and company reputation.

McDonough says Salt's international experience ensures he is well equipped to lead GWA forward and drive growth.

"He has a successful track record in building a high performance, results oriented culture with strong customer centricity," he says.

"He has extensive experience in managing iconic brands and is a natural fit for GWA, which owns and distributes market-leading brands including Caroma, Dorf Clark, Fowler and Gainsborough."

GWA's bathroom and kitchen business chief executive Les Patterson has also finalised his exit from the group next week, following 11 years of service.

Crowley will take on leadership of the division until Salt joins the company in September prior to his transition as CEO next year.
