Mogul announces a magic partnership with Wizards of the Coast

Esports Mogul (ASX: ESH) has partnered with one of the most popular strategy trading card games creators Wizards of the Coast.

The esports tournament and matchmaking platform provider will host Magic: The Gathering Arena (MTG Arena) matches on its Mogul platform.

The video game is based on the long-running card game Magic: The Gathering and is the latest digital version of the card game. Wizards of the Coast is subsidiary of entertainment giant Hasbro.

Since the Open Beta of MTG Arena in September 2018, over 1 billion games of MTG Arena have been played.

Wizards and Mogul have today launched a MTG Arena branded hub, enabling MTG Arena players to compete and challenge other players on leader boards.

In addition, Mogul has launched the MTG Arena Mogul Championship 2019, inviting any Australian or New Zealand player to compete for a prize pool of over $50,000.

Mogul chief marketing officer Mark Warburton has welcomed Wizards of the Coast to the company's family of supported games that already includes major games like Fortnite, Apex Legends, Overwatch and Super Smash Bros.

"Wizards of the Coast is a great addition to Mogul's partner roster, and we're delighted to offer our innovative platform features to the tournament championship," says Warburton.

"We look forward to developing more opportunities with Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro as our platform continues to expand and delight players."
