MULTINATIONALS are muscling in on the Burleigh Heads shopping precinct threaded by the popular James Street.
Chicken chain Nandos and convenience store 7-Eleven are moving in alongside realtors that have rebranded. Burleigh Property Sales will operate under Ray White and Black and Young has made the transition to The Professionals.
The redevelopment of the post office site on the corner of James and Connor Streets is underway with national chain Coffee Club confirmed as the anchor tenant, with a sushi restaurant and clothing boutique also mooted to move in.
Several new independent retail outlets have also recently opened with others changing hands for record prices.
A recent sale of the Tropicana Café on the corner of the Gold Coast Highway and Connor Street went for an undisclosed amount but is believed to be a record high seven-figure sum.
Formally known as Pacific Carvery the café was established more than 30 years ago and was completely refurbished and renamed Burleigh Tropicana six years ago.
Iconic Gold Coast restaurant Georges Paragon is also seeking a franchise location in the area.
