GLOBALX Legal Solutions has teamed up with Red Rain to develop a software solution to improve productivity for lawyers and conveyancers.

The Brisbane-based company will extend the functionality of its software, Open Practice, collaborating with Red Rain enhance mobility.

Open Practice Mobile will build on the management software, by allowing users to access contacts, data, documents and time-recording functions while on the go.

GlobalX CEO Peter Maloney (pictured) says users will also be able to remotely synchronise with the Open Practice database using Apple iOS and Android systems.

"As legal and conveyancing practices become increasingly mobile, and client expectations change, we are committed to ensuring Open Practice continually enhances functionality and access to matter data that will support our customer's ever-increasing drive to improve productivity," Maloney says.

"We have this fantastic opportunity to leverage the sophistication and convenience of today's mobile innovation to enrich the user experience, client services and extend the features and functionality of Open Practice to anytime, anywhere."

Red Rain CEO Stephen Butler says GlobalX is considered to be a "thought-leader in the legal solutions industry" and his team is excited to produce a mobility solution.

More than 9000 legal practitioners and 500 firms utilise Open Practice nationally, with the mobile capability expected to be released early this year.
