Sunseekers' Brightest

The British are not holding back in their attempt to outshine local favourites, with regular Bond film-featured brand Sunseeker leading the northern invasion.

Celebrating its 50th anniversary since founder Robert Braithwaite started the Sunseeker story in 1960, the Australian release of the company’s ’30 Metre Yacht’ (pictured) is headlining Sunseeker Australia’s spectacular exhibit.

The luxury vessel features guest accommodation for 12 and can travel up to 1000 nautical miles at slow cruising speed. It is joined by the Australian releases of the Sunseeker ’80 Yacht’ and ’86 Yacht’ to add to a seven boat display.

While the UK luxury brand has distributors in nine markets across Europe, Africa and the America’s, Sunseeker Australia has won the international group’s ‘Worldwide Distributor of the Year’ award for the last five consecutive years.

The awards judge each distributor on a strict set of criteria that levels the playing field worldwide and the accolade received by Sunseeker Australia recognises the division’s world leading customer service.

Sunseeker Australia managing director Alf Barbagallo, attributes the local success of Sunseeker yachts to a dedicated team.

“We couldn’t have achieved this without the hard work and commitment of our skilled Australia-wide service team as well as the many individuals involved behind the scenes on whom our name and reputation depends on,” says Barbagallo.

“Our working relationship with Sunseeker International also plays an integral role in the success of the team. The Sunseeker family continues to grow each year. The feedback from our customers is always appreciated and it is with this information that we strive to pursue both product and service excellence.”

The accomplishment further highlights the significance the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS) plays as an indicator of future sales in one the greatest marine markets worldwide.

Barbagallo says the company is expecting sales to increase further with the launches of the new models.

“We’re excited to launch for the first time in Australia the 30m, 86 and 80 Yacht which I invite people to view at the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show,” he says.

“As a brand we feel optimistic for 2010 with orders already placed for new vessels and many new releases arriving this year.”
