THE SEARCH IS ON FOR BRISBANE'S BEST MANAGERS

THE Australian Institute of Management (AIM) is encouraging the Brisbane business community to nominate its most outstanding and respected leaders for Queensland’s most prestigious management awards.
Applications for the 2009 Management Excellence Awards are now open and AIM urges those in Brisbane to support the leaders who inspire them by submitting their nomination before June 15.
Chair of the 2009 Management Excellence Awards Helen Brodie says the awards the spotlight on those leaders who define leadership excellence and encourage others to follow in their footsteps, particularly relevant in these turbulent economic times.
“The awards recognise the leaders among us who live and breathe the qualities that bind all great managers – business savvy, the ability to motivate others and an unwavering dedication to their team and organisation,” says Brodie.
“AIM wants to encourage the Brisbane community to uncover those exceptional managers who have turned their belief and passion into viable, sustainable businesses.”
The awards acknowledge leaders across ten regional centres in Queensland and the Northern Territory within the categories of Professional Manager of the Year, Owner Manager of the Year, Young Manager of the Year and Rural/Remote Manager of the Year.
Brisbane nominees will also contest for the Not for Profit Manager of the Year Award.
Nominations for the awards close next month and judging will take place throughout August.
The Brisbane finals will be held in September.
Last year’s Brisbane finalists included Phillip Di Bella (Di Bella Coffee), Christine Moody (Moody Design) and Malcolm Richards (Electrical and Communications Association).
