TRYP LANDS IN BRISBANE
TRYP has landed in Brisbane, marking the Wyndham hotel chain's first trip to the South Pacific.

Lord mayor Graham Quirk says the four-storey, 65-room Fortitude Valley structure is a first-of-its-kind art hotel for the city.

"TRYP Fortitude Valley Hotel delivers a much-needed boutique hotel accommodation option to cater to Brisbane's ever-increasing number of visitors and residents, as well as demand generated by G20," says Quirk.

"Wyndham Hotel Group and The McPhee Group have collaborated with local businesses, creative personalities and artists to create a unique hotel experience, which offers much more than a hotel stay.

"TRYP encourages guests to 'own the city' and in turn showcases the Valley's vibrant arts, entertainment and cultural offerings."

TRYP opened with the unveiling of a commissioned art piece by Brisbane's David Hooper and also features murals and street art by artists such as Beastman and Numskull.

Big names have been utilised across the board, with Brisbane's Black Milk Clothing dressing hotel staff, and chef Warren Turnbull running TRYP's UP on Constance rooftop bar and lobby level restaurant Chur.

Wyndham Hotel Group South East Asia and Pacific Rim president and managing director, Barry Robinson, says he was delighted with the opening of the landmark hotel in one of Australia's most exciting and economically robust cities.

"Brisbane is a business and tourism hub attracting an ever increasing stream of business and leisure travellers," says Robinson.

"TRYP Fortitude Valley Hotel is ideally positioned to cater to these different markets with a range of signature offerings including great rates, unique guest experiences, stand-out service and comfortable accommodation."

TRYP currently operates in a variety of cosmopolitan cities including Barcelona, Lisbon, Paris, New York City and Sao Paulo.
