Waterfront food & wine festival celebrates tastes of the Gold Coast

The Waterfront Food & Wine Festival returns to the Gold Coast on August 22 and is set to be bigger and tastier than the 2006 inaugural event.

The festival will again take place at the Carrara Outdoor Entertainment Complex and will be a celebration of fabulous wines, sumptuous food from local restaurants and entertainment from some of Australia’s popular music artists.

With the taste of Master Chef currently on everyone one’s lips, Gold Coast foodies and fans of the Network Ten reality program will delight in knowing that Master Chef judge and executive chef of The Press Club in Melbourne - George Calombaris will be presenting a special Master Class at the festival.

Along with Calombaris, festival organisers are pleased to also have the executive chef of Fifteen in Melbourne Tobie Putttock and QLD local Dominique Rizzo from Ready Steady Cook also on the menu to perform cooking demonstrations throughout the day.

Festival patrons will have the opportunity to indulge in fabulous fare from some of the Gold Coasts tastiest restaurants and enjoy a selection of over 50 wines from Australia’s top wine regions.

Throughout the day, the main stage will feature the talented Diana Anaid - a pioneer of acoustic female indie rock. Anaid will kick off the entertainment on the main stage at this year’s festival.

A highlight of this year’s festival is the inclusion of Australian Rock Legend Daryl Braithwaite. Braithwaite will perform some of his all time classic hits like “Summer Love”, “Howzat” and “The Horses” before The Beautiful Girls hit the stage and add a bit of groove to the festival.
