WITNESS THE CROWNING OF SURF WORLD CHAMPIONS

WITNESS THE CROWNING OF SURF WORLD CHAMPIONS

THE world’s best surfers will trade in their board shorts and bikinis for suits and dresses at the 2012 ASP World Surfing Awards.

On February 23 surfing stars will cheer on their newly crowned world champions, runners-up and rookies of the year at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.

This black-tie spectacular is offering new award categories, beefed up production and tickets to the general public.

The proposition gives a limited number of enthusiasts a momentous opportunity to mix and mingle with surfing legends like Kelly Slater and Stephanie Gilmore (both pictured). The event includes a three-course meal, drinks and entertainment. Tickets cost $372 a head or $3625 for a table of 10.

Guests also have a chance to cast their votes to decide the winners of Surfer’s surfer, heat of the year and manoeuvre of the year categories while at the same time entering a draw for a $500 prize up for grabs.

The event will be webcast live on the YouTube video-sharing website.
