WOMEN IN CONSTRUCTION ADVISE ON QLD GROWTH

THE CONSTRUCTIONQ Leadership Council has been bolstered by the appointment of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) QLD/NT president Marnie Beckett.

Beckett's appointment to the Queensland Government's construction advisory panel highlights dedication to correcting the imbalance of women in the construction sector.

"The ConstructionQ Leadership Council will play a vital role in moulding and guiding the strategic direction for Queensland's construction industry for years to come," says Beckett of the 20-year blueprint to address long-term growth for the industry.

"More specifically, NAWIC's involvement in the Council will ensure the industry's women of today and tomorrow will continue to contribute to the growth of our state and our nation.

"We hope to see plans put in place that will ensure greater opportunities for women to be the leaders of tomorrow, achieving great success from site to the boardroom.

"NAWIC is honoured to be part of the ConstructionQ Leadership Council and it shows the industry is committed to harnessing the talent and opportunities women bring to the workplace, particularly how we can all work towards creating an industry that provides greater flexibility for women and men."

The ConstructionQ Leadership Council provides a platform for industry stakeholders to engage and collaborate, with a priority of maximising community outcomes and economic development to ensure a sustainable future.
