From needle-free vaccine biotech Vaxxas to circular economy superstars Rino Recycling finding ways to reuse construction and demolition waste, Brisbane-based innovators will be on display as part of a new campaign promoting the river city's cutting-edge opportunities to business leaders, investors and entrepreneurs nationwide.
According to the Brisbane Economic Development Agency (BEDA) the city is is home to more than 140 innovation hubs, which is the highest density of hubs per capita in Australia.
BEDA highlights the city's world-leading robotics skills and research, and a manufacturing exports sector that is growing at a faster rate than the rest of the country.
With the city's economy forecast to grow by 68 per cent to $275 billion by 2041, the agency is harnessing an innovation boom to entice new investment and businesses through its Alive with Opportunity campaign, running across print, digital and radio until June.
Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner says Brisbane’s economy is gaining incredible momentum ahead of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
"Brisbane is one of Australia’s fastest growing capital cities and a premier investment destination for businesses and entrepreneurs from around the world,” Cr Schrinner says.
“With the Brisbane 2032 Games fast approaching, we’re entering a new era of investment potential, underscored by a booming workforce.
“Our thriving economy, exceptional talent pool, world-class infrastructure, and enviable lifestyle shows why we are one of the most business-friendly cities."
Brisbane Economic Development Agency CEO Anthony Ryan says the city is cementing its position as one of Australia’s top economic powerhouses.
